i'm so glad that you mentioned that it's time for chino's french strawberries! i've been meaning to get my mits on some after reading alice water's book on fruit. i love the small varieties (addicted to an english jam by tiptree made from tiny "little scarlet" strawberries) & even trying to grow some in pots (mignonette alpine). we'll definitely try to get down there soon to try them.

enjoy the flower fields. in the past i've found some pretty great regular sized strawberries from a stand near the entrance/parking.
